Purchasing Information

Thank you for your interest in purchasing a mini pet pig from Hogs and Kisses! Below you will find the steps involved in purchasing a  piggy from us.

First

Make sure a Mini Pet Pig is the right pet for you! Do your research.

Thoroughly read through our website and that of https://americanminipigassociation.com/  Becoming aware of the needs of a pet mini pig is essential. We would love to arrange for you to visit us and meet one on one, see our piggy parents and answer any questions you may have in person.

Second

Check Your Local By-Laws

Not all municipalities permit ownership of mini pigs as household pets. If you find out they are not permitted in your municipality there are ways you can apply to ask for an amendment.

Third

Complete and Submit an Application

We ask that you take the time to fill out our pet piglet application with as much detail as possible. Once completed, submit the application to [email protected] We will be in touch within a day.

Fourth

Place a deposit and Sign our Adoption Agreement which we will email to you.

To secure a spot for a piglet on our waitlist, there will be a non-refundable $100 deposit. To secure a selected piglet, there will be an additional non-refundable deposit of $400. The selection of piglets will be in the order of deposits taken. The remainder of the payment must be made in full by the time the piglet is 7 weeks old. ONCE All PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED! Deposits go towards the price of the piglet.

Fifth

Watch your Mini Pig grow!

We keep our Facebook page and website up to date, so check in to see updates of your little one!

Hogs and Kisses will care for your piglet and prepare them for their new home. This will include having your piglet spayed or neutered, dewormed, litter box trained, and socialized. Piglets will be ready for their new homes at approximately 8 weeks old. However, if need be we will retain a piglet for a longer time if we feel the piglet is not ready to leave our care yet.

Sixth

Welcome Your Piglet Home!

Arrange pickup of your piglet.  We do hope to meet you in person for pickups. Again, it is highly recommended that a meet and greet takes place, however, we do understand that this isn't always possible.

If you live further away in Canada we can send your piglet by plane via Air Canada or WestJet. The cost is generally $350 to ship your piglet anywhere in Canada. (NOTE! These prices are subject to change without notice).

Additionally, ground shipping may be available within Ontario and Quebec.  The cost of ground shipment varies, but you can expect, $80 per100 km. Typically, ground deliveries are done by Hogs and Kisses!

We cannot guarantee a piglet's size, color or eye color 100%. The very best we can do is estimate what the likely factors will be depending on parents. Genetics are complicated and every pig is different, just like us!

Piglets are not available to be chosen until they are 2-3 weeks old.  This allows us time to see how they're growing and assure good health. We will send you updated pictures of the piglets and you can decide based on the picture, or you may visit to make your decision on what piglet is right for you!

Although Mini Pigs seem like an expensive pet to invest in, they are a pet that you will have for a long time. They are very inexpensive to feed. They eat Hogs and Kisses mini pig food, which can be purchased from us, it is not expensive at all.  They love snacking on fruits and veggies and even graze on grass. They rarely suffer from health issues, keeping vet bills to a minimum. So although the initial investment may be a bit more, you can rest assure the lifetime costs are typically minimal.
